Olympic Cycling Bmx

The BMX races at London 2012 will be held on a short outdoor track, with the riders starting on an 8m-high ramp. The course is built up with jumps, bumps and tightly banked corners. Following individual time trial seeding rounds, eight riders struggle in heats, with each race lasting around 40 seconds. BMX bikes have only one gear and one brake. Most racing riders use wheels that are 20 inches in diameter, roughly two-thirds the size of wheels used on a standard road bike. Olympic Cycling Bmx is regular part of Summer Olympics since 1970s when children began racing their bicycles on dirt tracks in southern California, drawing motivation from the motocross superstars of the time.
Though originally denoting a bicycle intended for BMX Racing, the term "BMX bike" is now used to encompass race bikes, as well as those used for the dirt, vert, park, street, flatland and BMX freestyle disciplines of BMX. BMX frames are made of various types of steel and (largely in the racing category) aluminum. Cheaper, low end bikes are usually made of steel.BMX bicycles are available in these models type Race, Freestyle, Dirt jump, Flatland bmx Flatland, Street, Park.
BMX Freestyle is now one of the staple events at the annual Summer X Games Extreme Sports competition and the ETNIES backyard jam, held largely on both coasts of the United States. The popularity of the sport has increased due to its relative ease and availability of riding locations. At the games, Latvian Māris Štrombergs and Anne-Caroline Chausson of France were crowned the first Olympic champions in Mens and Women's BMX Racing.
London 2012 Olympic will present Olympic Cycling Bmx from Wednesday, 8 to Friday 10 August 2012, at the Olympic Stadium, London. 48 athletes will contest for 2 Medals. You can get Olympic Cycling Bmx Tickets and Olympic Tickets on affordable prices from Global Ticket Market.
