Olympic Cycling Track

Olympic Cycling Track is a bicycle racing contest generally held on particularly built banked tracks or velodromes (but many events are held at older velodromes where the track banking is relatively thin) using track bicycles. Track racing is also done on grass tracks marked out on flat sports fields. These types of events are especially common during the summer in Scotland at Highland Games gatherings, but there are also regular summer events in England. Now enjoying a boom in reputation, the action-packed sport of Track Cycling has featured at every Game. Olympic Cycling Track is a regular part since 1896. At London 2012, Team GB will be looking to add to its dominance on the track at the Beijing 2008 Games, when British cyclists won seven of the 10 gold medals.

rack cycling events fit into two broad categories, Sprint races and Endurance races. Riders will typically fall into one category and not compete in the other. Riders with good all round ability in the junior ranks will decide to focus on one area or another before moving up to the senior ranks.Sprint races are generally between 3 and 8 laps in length and focus on raw sprinting power and race tactics over a small number of laps to defeat opponents. Sprint riders will train specifically to compete in races of this length and will not compete in longer endurance races.
London 2012 Olympic will present Olympic Cycling Track from Thursday, 2 to Thursday 7 August 2012, at the Velodrome. 188 (104 men, 84 women) athletes will contest for 12 Medals. You can get Olympic Cycling Track Tickets and olympic Tickets on affordable prices from Global Ticket Market.
